Brrrr...

Jump the most common hurdles of caring for your hair through the freezing winter months!

Temperatures are low and the air is much less humid than the summer during the upcoming months. Winter winds cause your hair follicles to become dry and split your ends. Before bundling up, use a quarter size of a treatment oil from roots to ends to protect your hair.

Winter also brings about a whole lot of static electricity from sweaters, sweat suits, and hats. To avoid static electricity from harming your hair, leave some conditioner in your hair after washig and avoid towel drying it. If static electricity creeps up on you without you knowing and you look like you just rubbed a balloon on your head, take a dryer sheet and lightly glide it over your hair.

As cliche as it sounds, get all your vitamins, even if its the Flinstone kind! This tip is not only beneficial in the winter, but all year round. A healthy diet and/or correct intake of the proper vitamins will keep your hair shiny, prevent it from falling out, and keep it very manageable. Most importantly, it will consistently keep a healthy palette for natural hair growth.

We hope you steer clear of breakage, split ends, and static this winter! Stay warm!
